Sweet taste of success at Vacy

24/07/2008 9:24:00 AM
A restaurant in the small town of Vacy has forged ahead to take out the top honour at one of the year’s most prestigious restaurant and catering awards.

Treehops Restaurant, located at Eaglereach Wilderness Resort, has won the best restaurant accolade (in a Hunter region resort) in the 2008 Restaurant and Catering Association of NSW/ACT Awards for Excellence.

The restaurant was chosen from six other restaurants in the Hunter region for the top gong. The award was accepted by part-owners Gunter Hager and Steve Hutchings and head chef Lee Cowie.

“A guest nominated the restaurant for the award and the testers were anonymous so we didn’t even know we were being judged,” Mr Hager said.

“I would like to congratulate all our staff for winning this award and we thank our guests.”
